Khammam: Congress stages one-day jala deeksha
Khammam: Reminding that it was the Congress, which gave separate Telangana State, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka condemned the arrests of Congress MLAs and MPs across the State on State Formation Day.
He participated in the one-day jala deeksha along with the party leaders at district party office here on Tuesday. Earlier, he unfurled the national flag and paid tributes to Telangana Martyrs on State Formation Day.
Vikramarka alleged that the district farmers are going to lose on Pothireddypadu issue. Informing that Congress leaders staged protests against the AP government's decision, they are giving power point presentation on this issue for creating awareness among the people.
He alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is letting Krishna River water to come to Telangana State and supporting the AP government in this regard and demanded completion of SLBC and Kalvakurthi projects immediately.
The CLP leader stated the CM thinks that he knows all irrigation issues but really, he doesn't know anything. He challenged the TRS leaders to come for discussion on irrigation issues any place in the State.
Bhatti criticised that the TRS government failed to implement welfare schemes and development programmes in the State in the last six years and the TRS failed to fulfil its poll promises.
Meanwhile, Bhadrachalam Congress MLA Podem Veeraiah, who was going to participate jala deeksha, was arrested by police in Bhadrachalam.
Expressing angry over his arrest, the MLA said it is not right to arrest a tribal MLA on State Formation Day.
