Karimnagar: Neonatal resuscitation workshop held

Karimnagar: Pre-conference workshop was conducted at Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences, Chalmeda Ananda Rao Institute of Medical Sciences and Star Hospitals in Karimnagar on Friday. About 250 practitioners and postgraduates from Mamata Medical College, Khammam; Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal; Deccan Medical College, Hyderabad; PIMS and CAIMS had participated.

Workshops on NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Programme) was conducted at CAIMS, NIV (Non-Invasive Ventilation) at PIMS, and Vaccinology was conducted at Star Children's Hospital.

The importance new-born care and importance of first golden minute life for the new born, advantage of non-invasive mode of ventilation like CPAP, HHHFNC and new modes of ventilation were discussed in these workshops.

Importance of vaccines, which act as second line of defence in fighting infections thereby reducing morbidity and mortality in under -5 children. Dignitaries have inaugurated the 3-day workshop.
