IT raids on TTD chairman contesting from Mydukuru

Kadapa/ Hyderabad: A team of officials from Income-Tax department headed by assistant commissioner of Income-Tax Kadapa conducted raids on the house of TTD chairman and Mydukuru TDP candidate Putta Sudhakar Yadav located at YMR colony in Proddatur town on Wednesday afternoon but could not find anything.

The IT sleuths, according to TDP leaders, waited till Sudhakar Yadav returned home for lunch from his poll campaign and took up the raid so that he cannot go out for campaign in the afternoon. It may be recalled, they said the IT officials had recently raided Amaravati Medical Institution owned by Kanigiri TDP candidate Ugra Narsimha Reddy and had gone back without finding any incriminating documents nor did they seize any money.

Meanwhile, tension prevailed at YMR colony as the TDP activists rushed to the spot and raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging that he was responsible for the raids by Income-Tax officials. TDP Rajya Sabha member CM Ramesh alleged that YSRCP is responsible egging BJP to conduct raids. He said YSRCP is not able to digest fact of its defeat in Mydukuru and was hence resorting to such cheap tactics. Kadapa Lok Sabha nominee C Adinarayana Reddy said TDP never fears such kind of raids as it courageously faced such incidents in the past.

In another development, the Telangana police dug out a case which is as old as 2009 pertaining to Vamsi Vallabhneni, TDP candidate from Gannavaram in Krishna district. According to Vamsi he had hired a private security as the then government did not give him security. A case was registered against him that the security possessed arms.

A non-bailable warrant was issued against him at that time. But later the High Court quashed the non-bailable warrant and dismissed the case. But in a surprise move, the TS police filed a case in Nampally court saying that Vamsi did not attend the hearing in the court and again a non-bailable warrant has been issued. He has been asked to appear before them on April 14.
