Irrigation department DE caught taking bribe in Peddapalli

Peddapalli: ACB officials on Friday arrested Divisional Engineer of the Irrigation department Ravikanth for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 80,000 from a person in Peddapalli on Friday.

DE Ravikanth demanded Rs1 lakh bribe from a contractor Raju for clearing the bills related Water Works department.

The contractor had approached the ACB officials for help, who later laid a trap and caught DE Ravikanth red handed when he was accepting Rs 80,000 bribe from Raju at his office. The raids were conducted by ACP and DSP Bhadraiah along with Circle inspectors Sanjeev, Ramulu and Venu Gopal.
