Classes for first-year Intermediate students are likely to commence from August this year due to the delay in the conduct of SSC exams in the state.

On Tuesday, the High Court issued a green signal to the conduct of pending SSC exams which would be held in the next week of June and would go till the end of June. The valuation work and the declaration of results would take another 20 days.

Without the SSC results, the admissions into the Intermediate first year cannot be done. Hence, the commencement of classes for the Intermediate first year has been moved to August. Moreover, the Board of Intermediate Education has sought approval for affiliation of junior colleges which would also take time.

Though it is planned to hold the classes from August, it is yet to be confirmed depending upon the COVID-19 situation in the state.

The Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) has appealed to the students and parents to check the affiliation of colleges before taking admissions. The list of affiliated colleges will be placed on the official website of BIE before July 20. The students can check the list of colleges and the courses being offered before taking the admissions.
