Install statues of leaders, who sacrificed lives in Telangana Rebellion: CPI
Karimnagar: The statues of landlords, Jamindars and others, who sacrificed their lives in Telangana Sayudha Poratam must be installed on the tank bund in Hyderabad, demanded Communist Party of India (CPI) State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy.
Speaking to the media at Baddam Yella Reddy Bhavan in Karimnagar on Monday, Chada Venkat Reddy said the people of next generation must know the great personalities, who sacrificed their lives fighting in Telangana Sayudha Poratam.
For this, the government must take initiation for installing their statues on the tank bund with their life history carved on the pillars. Districts, which they represent, must be named after them and a museum also should be established. Even after the merging of Hyderabad dynasty in Union of India, the Telangana Liberation Movement was not stopped.
For the sake of wellbeing of future generations, the leaders of that era fought against the Nizams and sacrificed their lives.
Their sacrifices should be included as lessons in schoolbooks, Chada stressed. To create awareness among the people about the sacrifices done by the great personalities to liberate Telangana, the CPI launched bus yatra across the State from September 11, which has reached Karimnagar on Monday and will continue to other districts until September 17 (The Telangana Liberation Day), he informed.
Party leaders Ponaganti Kedari, Srujan, former ZPTC Kuna Shoba Rani and Paidipalli Raju were present in the press meet.
