Implement sanitation perfectly in the municipality: Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao

Karimnagar: Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao ordered the municipal special officers and municipal commissioners to prepare an action plan to implement the sanitation plan perfectly under all the municipalities.

The Minister held a video conference with the District Collectors, municipal special officers and commissioners of all districts from Hyderabad.

Addressing the officials, Minister KTR said with the inspiration derived from the success of 30-day action plan, which yielded good results, sanitation plan on the same line will be implemented under every municipality across the State. He said that there must be one dumping yard in every municipality, if not, identify suitable land for setting up a dumping yard away from the city. Ordering that dry and wet waste must be collected separately, KTR suggested them to prepare an action plan for establishing a bio-gas plant for recycling waste that was collected in three months.

KTR told them to ensure that there are at least 28 sanitary staff in the municipalities with a population of 10,000 people. For every 500 houses, there must be one Swachh Auto to collect the waste. About Rs 60 to Rs 70 lakh investment will be required for establishing recycling unit in every municipality and the officials must prepare an action plan accordingly, he added. He already asked the officials concerned to setup as many as oxygen parks as part of Green Action Budget along with establishing maximum number of toilets, including she-toilets and children toilets.

District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed informed the Municipal Minister that they are trying to shift the dumping yard, which is present near Manair dam and will identify suitable land as early as possible.

MEPMA Project Director Pavan Kumar, City Municipal Commissioner G Venu Gopal Reddy, Choppadandi, Kottapalli, Jammikunta and Huzurabad Municipal Commissioners Swarupa Rani, Rajendar Kumar and Rasheed and Superintending Engineer Bhadraiah were present along with others.
