Hyderabad: Wakf officials colluding with land grabbers
Hyderabad: The graveyard committee of Dargah Syed Ali Kulle Shah Darvesh at Petbasheerabad under Qutbullahpur zone alleged that the remaining 5 gunta (about 605 sq yard) graveyard land out of 3 acres 7 guntas has been usurped by the land sharks with the active connivance of a Wakf Inspector and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Wakf.
Syed Md Ismail Quadri, the president of Masjid Committee of Jama Masjid Noorain , who represented the matter to the Wakf Board Chairman on Tuesday, told the media held that the Wakf Board not only failed to protect its interests, but its officials remained in nexus with the builder who approached the High Court claiming the land parcel meant for graveyard at Survey No.39 of Petbasheerabad. "We have been pursuing the matter with the Wakf officials towards securing the land and now it came to light that the officials not only delayed the matter but helped the builder in encroaching the land. Now, they are not initiating any action against the encroachers citing High Court order," he said.
Quadri held that in the previous year a survey was conducted with an objective of demarcation and fencing, but the officials appeared in 'hand-in-glove' with the builder. He blamed that the delay in responding to the development was causing loss to the Wakf properties in the city.
