Hyderabad: Sikligar Sikhs meet TSMC chief Mohammed Qamaruddin, seek land for school
Hyderabad: A Sikh delegation of Sikligar leaders led by Col. Jagter Singh Multhani, International Sikh Confederation (Chandigarh), on Friday called on TS Minorities Commission Chairman Mohammed Qamaruddin. They requested him to allot 3,000 sq yd of land for running a school under Sikligar Society in the State.
The delegation comprised Jeetender Singh (Retd.) DGM, BSNL and Executive Member International Sikh Confederation (Amritsar), Hardev Singh, General Secretary, Siklilgar Society (Telangana), Rabjoth Singh, Member (Sikhligar Society), Telangana.
The chairman informed them that the matter has already been referred to government with a recommendation to allot 3,000 sq yd to Sikligar Society for running a school. He assured the Sikh delegation that necessary steps would be taken to allot the land. The chairman briefed the Sikh delegation about the activities of the Minorities Commission taken up under various fields.
Sardar Surender Singh, Member, TS Minorities Commission, B Shankar Luke, vice chairman and M A Khadeer Siddiqui, additional private secretary to chairman were present at the occasion.
"The Sikh delegation was much impressed with the welfare schemes introduced by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for upliftment of minorities in Telangana State, such as pre-metric, post metric and overseas scholarships, Shaadi Mubarak scheme, driver empowerment programme and study circle for IAS, IPS and other competitive examination coaching centres etc," informed the chairman.
