Hyderabad: The Bowenpally police on Tuesday rescued a minor boy aged 5 from the clutches of a kidnapper who lured the boy with food and kidnapped him.

According to police, the boy and his mother used to stay at Secunderabad railway station and the mother would beg for her livelihood.

However the anonymous kidnapper approached the mother and child and lured them to provide food.

The kidnapper then brought the mother and child to Bowenpally bus stand and gave Rs 50 to the mother to purchase food from a nearby stall.

When the mother went to the stall, the kidnapper took the child and boarded the Nizamabad bounded bus. When the mother was unable to find her child, she immediately approached us and lodged a complaint, said the Inspector, C Anjaiah.

He noted, "Based on the complaint, we checked the CCTV footage and found that the kidnapper boarded the Nizamabad bounded bus. So we collected the details of the driver and alerted the Medak police who in turn stopped the bus and rescued the child. The kidnapper was also arrested and brought to the city and the child was reunited with his mother."
