Hyderabad man sentenced to 10-year RI for raping 6-year-old girl

A man from city has been sentenced to 10-year Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) for raping a six-year-old girl by the local court. Besides, the imprisonment, the court also imposed a fine fo Rs 5,000. The accused, G Vinod Kumar, in September 2015, had lured the victim with chocolates before taking her to his hut and raped her. Later, the girl's parents rushed to her rescue after hearing her screams.

On noticing the girl's parents, the accused fled the scene and later arrested by the police. The police filed a charge sheet was filed against him in the Metropolitan Sessions court at LB Nagar. After the completion of the trial, the court found him guilty on Friday.

In another case, a painter who was facing charges of attempt to rape on a 13-year-old girl in a school at Addagudur in Yadadri Bhongir district in 2017, has got Rigorous Imprisonment for five years. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him.

The incident occurred when the girl was changing clothes in the dormitory of her school when he entered the room, closed the door and tried rape on her. However, the victim managed to escape from the accused and approached the headmistress, who then informed the police. Later, he was arrested by the police and a charge sheet was filed in the court.
