Hyderabad: Krishnaiah decries attack on Big Boss winner in Barkatpura
Barkatpura: President of BC welfare association R Krishnaiah demanded action against the accused involved in the attack against noted Telugu playback singer and winner of Big Boss.
He was speaking at a programme organised by BC, SC, ST and minority united front here to protest the inaction of the government over the attack.
Speaking at the press meet after the meeting, R Krishnaiah demanded that the State government take necessary legal actions against the accused in the attack. He said that the accused had attacked Rahul with the support from ruling party MLA Ranjith Reddy. He said that they would bring the issue to the notice of National BC commission and union home affairs department and ensure that the accused were arrested. Condemning prejudice shown against downtrodden sections, he said that the government had been ignoring the fact that every citizen, irrespective of his caste or religion, were equal before law. He urged CM KCR to intervene in the issue and ensure that action was taken against the accused. A law similar to SC/ST Act need to be passed to protect BCs from attacks, he demanded the state government. Delay in arresting the accused proves that the government intent, he said. He urged downtrodden sections to awaken and fight against injustice being done to them.
BC leaders Gujja Krishna, Jampala Rajesh, Rangasai Bhatt, Dhanraj, Bhoopesh Sagar and others were present on the occasion.
