Hyderabad: Green drive at Maulana Azad National Urdu University
Hyderabad: The seventh round of tree plantation drive was held at the Maulana Azad National Urdu University on Friday. The drive was launched by the Directorate of Distance education (DDE).
Professor Fatima emphasised on plantation of trees and said that not only it helps to restore quality of life but it also contributes to our salubrious environment. It greatly helps in fighting climate change and for the existence of human beings.Dr G Srinivas Rao, Additional Secretary, UGC, said that trees are important for our survival, it also provides many other benefits to the society and to the wildlife.
They help in preserving our soil from erosion, attract water-laden clouds for rain, provide valuable timber and are responsible for retention of vegetation on earth."Professor SM Rahmatullah, Registrar I/c, Professor Abul Kalam, Director, DDE,and others called for creating an eco-friendly environment at the campus.
