Hyderabad: Fraudster dupes techie
Hyderabad: A software professional from Mumbai who was in the city before lockdown to purchase a property was duped by a fraudster. According to Cyber Crime police, they received a complaint from the software professional who said that he was in the city to invest in a property and for that he checked real estate websites and also came in contact with many agents.
But, when he could not go back due to lockdown, he got a call from a person who claimed to be a real estate agent and promised him a good property. The fraudster demanded an advance amount of Rs 4.5 lakh to be deposited in his account, believing him the techie deposited the said amount.
But to his dismay he was cheated and multiple efforts of him to contact the fraudster went in vain, said KVM Prasad, ACP, Cyber Crime. He further said, "Based on the complaint lodged by the techie we have registered a case and the matter is being investigated. It is not yet confirmed whether the fraudster was from Hyderabad or some other place, a hunt for him is on ."
