Hyderabad: Contractors apathy riles colony people in Uppal

Update: 2020-02-12 22:25 IST

Uppal: Residents of Bank Colony in Chiluka Nagar division are facing a lot of trouble because of the lethargic pace of civic works. As the footpath works in the division are in process, contractors are throwing demolition wastes in front of the houses. It is creating disturbance to residents to park the vehicles before their houses.

After the recent rain, water got stagnant and mosquito breeding also started. Mud pieces are falling in the drainage lines which are getting clogged. Locals want the officials to clear the wastes near the houses at the earliest.

"The negligence of contractor, GHMC officials and local corporator threw us into this situation. It is getting very difficult to even enter into our houses," says Kalyani, a resident of Bank colony. "Cement blocks are placed irregularly on the road. There are no streetlights also in the area. Two-wheeler riders are meeting with accidents as the cement blocks are not visible at night," says Mallikarjun, a resident of Bank colony.
