Hyderabad: Condemning the sudden Rs 7 per litre increase in the LPG rate from Saturday, Telangana Auto Drivers JAC today announced Auto Drivers bandh in the twin cities on February 14.

The auto drivers are also demanding a total ban on the diesel-run cabs on the city roads and also a ban on issue of new cab permits. Their other demands include Rs 10,000 grant to every auto drive as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy had done, enforcing prohibition, immediate issue of 20,000 new auto permits and stopping of auto black marketing in the city and formulating of guidelines to stop private auto financiers' harassment.

In a statement here, JAC convener Mohd Amanullah Khan said the KCR government failed to increase auto fares in the last six years. He demanded Rs 15 per km rate keeping in view the traffic congestion and frequent traffic jams on the city roads consuming more fuel and time.
