Pothireddypadu Project: AP CM Jagan deceived people of Telangana, says Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud
Hyderabad: Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud on Thursday said that the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy deceived people of Telangana by the decision of lifting water from Pothireddypadu.
Addressing a press conference here along with MLAs C Laxma Reddy and Anjaiah Yadav, Srinivas Goud said that at a time when Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was constructing projects after consulting with the neighbouring States, the AP Chief Minister unilaterally brought out a GO to lift waters from Pothireddypadu.
He said that though the AP government says that they were taking flood waters, the GO proves that they were taking the share of Telangana. The government would fight legally against the decision of the AP government, the Minister said.
He added said that there was no reason for the CM KCR to collude with the AP Chief Minister. "If KCR had colluded with YS Rajasekhara Reddy, Telangana would not have been achieved.
Whatever the Chief Minister does, he does it openly. KCR wanted to provide water to people of Rayalaseema by linking Godavari water to Krishna and had meetings with the AP Chief Minister," said Srinivas Goud.
The Minister ridiculed the comments of the Congress and BJP on the Pothireddypadu. The same Congress leaders were Ministers during the YS Rajasekhara Reddy's government and they welcomed without raising any objection but today they are questioning TRS, which was formed on river water issues, the Minister observed.
He also criticised the BJP leaders for their protest stating that if the Saffron party leaders were so agitated, they should urge the Centre to stop the project.
The BJP leaders should fulfil the promise made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to complete Palamur Rangareddy project, he demanded. MLA Laxma Reddy and Anjaiah Yadav also addressed.
