Hyderabad: Accountability only when officials & public representatives work in coordination: MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy

Patancheru: Local MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy observed in Ameenpur on Thursday that there would be accountability only when officials and public representatives work in coordination. He was addressing as the chief guest the broadbased meeting of Ameenpur Mandal Praja Parishad held under the chairmanship of president Erla Devanand Mudiraj. Earlier, he garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the parishad office.

The legislator told the meeting that the various welfare schemes being implemented after the formation of Telangana were largely benefiting people, 'like blessings.' He urged people to take up large-scale greenery and sanitation as part of the 'Palle Pragathi' programme in villages. Reddy called upon the sarpanches, MPTC members and officials to develop Ameenpur as a model mandal with coordinated efforts 'as responsibility'.

Devanand Mudiraj informed the meeting that that new real estate builders were not sparing government lands for taking up ventures. "Not even the graveyard in Kishtareddypet was exempted from encroachment for laying road. Such activities would cause severe hardships to people," he said, adding that the revenue department should focus attention on the issue.

ZPTC Forum district president and Ameenpur ZPTC Gangula Sudhakar Reddy urged officials of the education and health departments to create awareness among students and their parents on Coronavirus, so as to enable them to take precautions. He said a report would be submitted to the higher-ups on the absence of the officials of the Pollution Control Board, Excise and RTC at the meeting, while describing it as 'painful.'

Officials of various departments presented reports. Those present included Vice-MPP Sunita Satyanarayana, Cooption Member Basheer Quereshi, Sultanpur MPTC Member Patnam Madhuraveni, sarpanches, officials of various departments.
