Heat waves back in Medak district

Medak: Heat-wave conditions prevailed at isolated pockets in Medak among five Telangana districts during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Monday, according to the Met department bulletin. While Medak registered 40 degrees Celsius as the day temperature, there was 39 and 38 degrees respectively in Dundigal and Hakimpet respectively.

The bulletin warned of thunderstorms with gusty winds (30 to 40 kmph) and lightning very likely to occur on June 11 at isolated places in the State. It said heat-wave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated pockets in 12 districts of the State on the same day as also on June 12.

The forecast said light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places across the State from June 11 to 14, as the Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into remaining parts of south Arabian Sea and the Lakshadweep area, most parts of Kerala, me more parts of Tamil Nadu, remaining parts of south-east Bay of Bengal.
