Hanamkonda: Bathukamma is cultural identity of Telangana State

Hanamkonda: Bathukamma, the floral festival celebrated by the women, reflects the culture and tradition of Telangana, School of Distance Learning and Continuing Education (SDLCE) Director Prof Guguloth Veeranna said.

Speaking at Bathukamma celebrations of SDLCE employees here on Friday, he said that the floral festival is the cultural identity of Telangana people and it needs to be protected.

"The entire credit goes to women in taking the Bathukamma festival, the pride of Telangana, to all corners of the globe. Bathukamma is a true symbol of unity which glorifies the bond between the nature and humans," Prof Veeranna said.

He appreciated the staff for following dress code while celebrating the festival.

Prof Rajesham, Prof Ramesh, Prof V Ramachandram, Prof T Srinivas Rao, Prof Balbir Singh, Dr V Jagan, S Sujatha, G Sarala Devi, Vaishali, Sangeetha, Padma, Deva Kumari, Swamy, Krishnaveni, Padmasri, K Shankar, S Yadagiri, B Satya Prakash and SDLCE Media in-charge Dr Sangala Ephraim Raj were among others present.
