Gutka, foreign cigarettes seized at Ameenpur
Ameenpur: Acting on reliable information, the Vigilance and Enforcement officials of RC Puram unit on Monday raided a house in Vandanapuri Colony in Ameenpur municipal limits, where banned gutka and foreign cigarettes were stored.
They seized stocks worth Rs 7 lakh and took into custody an 'organiser' Badramandi Arjun. The officials identified stocks of the banned items valued at Rs 20 lakh. They registered a case. Enquiries by the department revealed that Arjun had been carrying on the business of dealing in banned products for the last one year, the officials told the media.
Among the officials who took part in the raid on the house were CIs Bal Reddy, Prabhakar, Deputy Commercial Tax Officer Upender, vigilance department staff, local Revenue Inspector Ramya Teja and VRO Krishna.
