Girls are not burden to poor parents anymore: Minister Indrakaran Reddy

Nirmal: Forest and Environment Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy said the State government has launched Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes to help the below poverty line families to meet the marriage expenses of their daughters across the State.

He distributed Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak cheques worth Rs 2,35,81,144 to 238 beneficiaries at a programme at NTR Function Hall in Nirmal on Friday.

The Minister said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao launched this scheme with a view that girls should not become a burden to poor parents. The amount was increased from Rs 51,000 to Rs 75,116 to Rs 1,00116.

He also distributed Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima cheques to eight beneficiaries of Nirmal mandal, 36 beneficiaries of Laxmanachanda mandal, 15 beneficiaries of Sarangapur, 128 beneficiaries of Nirmal urban mandal, 24 beneficiaries of Nirmal rural mandal, 19 beneficiaries of Dilawarpur, eight beneficiaries of Narsapur G.

Municipal Chairman Gandrath Eshwar and others were present on the occasion.
