GHMC Mayor assures elaborate arrangements for Ganesh festival

Hyderabad: GHMC Mayor Dr. Bonthu Rammohan said that all necessary arrangements were being made by the all stakeholder departments for the ensuing Ganesh Festival and immersion in the city and appealed the citizens, to co-operative with the officials to celebrate the festival in a peaceful and grand manner.

While speaking in a meeting with the officials and Ganesh Utsav Committee on the arrangements being made, the Mayor asked the officials to coordinate with stakeholder departments and to provide better service/arrangements than last year done, basing on the last year experience.

GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar, who chaired the meeting, informed that from GHMC side, elaborate necessary arrangements are being done like, 500 sanitation members drafted to clean the garbage during procession and after processes at Tank Bund, daily sanitation around Ganesh Pandal, spraying and fogging, to remove debris, C&D waste etc enroute procession, providing 254 Cranes, rectifying of low lying wires and tree branches 9.2 Crores worth 176 works, road repairs and repair at lakes etc, around 37,674 lights at all approach roads.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjini Kumar that said elaborate security arrangements were made. In addition to available force, 5 Companies of CRPF are being inducted in force and responsible officers drafted to coordination with the Ganesh Utsav Committee members. He appealed the organizers to register the Ganesh Pandal on online and obtain QR code to enable police to provide proper security. Further asked the officials, the crane operators will be available in three shifts along with spare parts and Mechanics. DCP Chauhan asked the GHMC officials ensure all repair works done well before in time and ensure Shell Mac Material is available at police stations to use in case emergency. DCP Anil Kumar said all arrangements are being made as was done during last year.

From Medical and Health department medical camps are being arranged, from the Fire department, 21 big 42 small vehicles are ready with fire safety measures. From Transco 101 transformers and 40 mobile transformers are being arranged. From HMWS&SB 101 water camps, air Tech machines, Suckking Jet.

Zonal Commissioner Harichandan, Addl. Commissioner, Siktha Patnaik, Director, Enforcement Viswajit Kampati, Addl. Commissioners, Chief Engineer, AMOHs and other senior officials from GHMC, HMDA, Transco, HMWS&SB and Police Department attended the meeting.
