Fulfil promises made to Mid Manair oustees: Congress

Hyderabad: The Congress leaders on Tuesday demanded that the promises made to the oustees of Mid Manair dam by the government should be fulfilled and submitted a memorandum to Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan in this regard.

They urged the government that promise of constructing 5 double bedroom houses at Vemulawada made on June 18, 2015 by the then chief minister for the families of the affected local people should be implemented.

The Congress leaders also demanded that affected villages be provided with requisite financial aid under different government schemes.

Dam displaced asked the government to extend financial support for setting up small businesses like poultry farm, dairy farm, sheep and goat farms.

They wanted the government to extend Rs 2 lakh financial assistance to all the youth above the age of 18 years besides providing them with suitable housing sites irrespective of their gender.

They demanded that the government should consider each affected village as a unit and allocate equal amount of land at the alternate site.

MLC T Jeevan Reddy, MLA D Sridhar Babu, TPCC working president Ponnam Prabhakar and others were present.
