Four held for cheating jobless youth

Hyderabad: Malkajgiri Special Operation Team (SOT) and Jawahar Nagar police in a joint operation nabbed four persons on charges of cheating jobless youth by luring them with government jobs through back door entry without examination and collected more than Rs 75 lakh and issued fake appointment letters.

The accused were identified as R Narsing Rao (27), K Maheshwara Rao (30), K Shiva Krishna (34) and P Prathap (39). The other two accused Tara Kiran and Santosh are

absconding.

The police seized fake appointment letters, fake gate pass ID cards, net cash worth of Rs 2.7 lakh and mobile phones from the possession of the accused.

According to the police, the accused collected money from nearly 20 students and gave it to Tara Kiran and Santosh who are residents of Odisha. After receiving the amount, the accused prepared fake appointment letters and also issued fake gate passes to students.

The appointment letters were sealed, stamped and signed by the accused persons who impersonated the officials of concerned departments.

The four accused with seized property were handed over to Jawahar Nagar police for further actions and efforts are on to nab the absconding.
