Warangal: The Special Officers will have to observe the sanitation position in their respective Gram Panchayats (GPs), Warangal Rural District Collector M Haritha said, speaking at a review of Palle Pragathi programme here on Monday.

The Collector, who elicited information about the sanitation position in each GP, told the Mandal Panchayat Officers (MPOs) to ensure a tractor or a mini vehicle to clear the dump by speaking to the Sarpanches. She directed the Lead Bank officials to resolve the issues if any GP was facing hiccups in purchasing vehicles on loan.

She directed the Special Officers to issue notices to the Sarpanches and Panchayat Secretaries concerned where sanitation is poor. The Collector instructed the officials to complete 50 soak pits a week. The GPs need to pass a resolution as the construction of graveyards was entrusted with the Panchayat Raj department.

Haritha told the officials to ground the dumping yard and graveyard works with immediate effect.

Zilla Parishad CEO Raja Rao, DRDO Sampath Rao, DPO Narayana Rao, mandal special officers, MPDOs and APOs were among others present.
