Financial literacy awareness meet held for farmers in Nizamabad

Nizamabad: As part of financial literacy week (from June 3 to 7), the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has conducted financial literacy awareness meet on Thursday at Kupriyal village, service area of Telangana Grameena Bank (TGB) Adloor Yellareddy, Nizamabad district.

The programme was commenced with cultural events of Reddy Rajaiah Group and later explained the different digital products of bank available to customers to the gathering with about 400 farmers from the adjacent villages of Adloor Yellareddy village.

Kamareddy District Collector Dr N Satyanarayana appreciated the initiative of RBI and TGB and requested farmers to take advantage of such programmes and gain knowledge regarding Agri-credit. He insisted upon treating the customer as a very important asset to the society as he is the only one not backed up by any institution but only by nature.

RBI GM Sundaram Shankar assured better services to farmers as insisted by the Collector. He also assured that the petition given by the villagers to open a branch at Kupriyal village will be looked into, based on the recommendations of bankers committee, which includes the District Collector.

TGB chairman V Arvind said that mobile ATMs were at display which serve various villages periodically. He invited customers to bank with TGB and avail every kind of service available. RBI, Kamareddy LDO KVLN Murthy and RBI AGM M Venkatesh gave a power point presentation.

NABARD DDM Vasudeva Rao, TGB, Nizamabad RM PRV Ramchander Rao, TGB CM-FI Venkateswarlu and others were present.
