Final warning to plastic ban violators: Nizamabad Collector M Rammohan Rao

Nizamabad: District Collector M Rammohan Rao directed the municipal officials to take steps to eliminate plastic in the city at a review meeting on cleanliness in the city with municipal engineers and sanitation officials at his chamber in Nizamabad on Friday.

Stating that single-use plastic items are still used in some commercial shops, the Collector told the authorities to issue a last warning and to take stringent action against them, if they continue even after the final warning. He also told them to monitor plastic prevention every day.

Rammohan Rao asked the officials to take steps to clean sewage canals and their surroundings on a regular basis. They were also told take measures avoiding people from throwing garbage on the roads. The people should be told strictly to separate dry and wet trash before giving it to garbage collectors at their house.

Scientific Drawing Yard Municipality engineers have been ordered to remove illegal structures in coordination with town planning officials. He asked the officials to prepare City Sanitation Plan and to submit immediately.

The Collector said that tree guards should be fixed to protect the saplings planted during Haritha Haram drive and to take measures to plant another sapling if any plant dies.

The officials concerned were ordered to complete central lighting works in Varni, Bodhan and Armoor immediately.

The municipality authorities were directed to take measures to prevent mosquitos spreading in the newly incorporated villages and other places. Municipal staff officers were told to coordinate with mosquito prevention medical health officers. The officials were strictly told to submit daily reports on the steps taken to eliminate plastic and sanitation works.
