Fake vehicle insurance certificate racket busted

Hyderabad: Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Commissionerate's West Zone task force sleuths on Thursday busted a fake insurance certificate racket and arrested an accused by name Abdul Samad (38) for preparing fake insurance certificates for the vehicles.

According to sleuths, the accused on the name of Reliance General, Royal Sundaram and Iffco-Tokio prepared insurance certificates by using the fake stamps at his photocopy shop named "Soha Online Center" in Asif Nagar and provided fake certificates to the needy customers by taking money from them.

The accused is running photocopy business at Asif Nagar and when his earnings are not sufficient to meet his family expenses, he started preparing fake insurance certificates for the vehicles and selling the same since 2018.

After purchasing three stamps in April 2018 on the name of several companies from Madhu Stamps in Balanagar through online, the accused collected the data of the persons from different localities in Hyderabad and prepared fake insurance certificates by taking the photocopies of vehicle RCs.

Later, he created fake insurance certificates for the vehicles on the name of different companies by using the fake stamps and selling the same for Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 per certificate as per the demand of customers.
