Educational institutions in TS region ignored in the past: Minister
Tirumalagiri (Suryapet): Education Minister G Jagdish Reddy stated that earlier governments in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh had completely neglected government educational institutions of Telangana region, whereas the TRS government has been providing quality education and facilities in government colleges and schools on par with private institutes.
The Minister inaugurated boys hostel building of Government Polytechnic College at Tirumalagiri on Friday. The building was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 3 crore.
Government has been providing health kits and hygienic food to students of government educational institutions. The Minister said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been giving top priority to Gurukul schools in the State. Facilities in residential schools is improving, the Minister added.
Most of the famous scientists in the world are students of government schools, he opined. He advised students to work hard to achieve their goals and to bring name to the institutions.
As part of the programme, he launched Haritha Haram programme here and planted saplings in the college premises. Meanwhile, in a separate programme, he launched a shed to garbage collecting auto trolleys in Tirumalagiri Municipal Limits and laid foundation stone or the construction of boundary wall to Tahsildar office at Arvapally. Rajaya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav, Local MLA Gadari Kishore and local body representatives, party leaders and officials also participated.
