Dhammakka Seva Yatra taken out on a grand note in Bhadrachalam
Bhadrachalam: The annual Dhammakka Seva Yatra was taken out on a grand note by the Lord Rama temple here on Tuesday. In the early hours of the day, the tribals took out a big procession on temple roads during which they performed traditional tribal dance.
A large number of tribal devotees took part in the procession and raised the slogans 'Jai Sri Ram'. Later, they performed pujas to the statue of Dhammakka in the town.
Meanwhile, special pujas were also conducted on temple premises to the portrait of Dhammakka. The devotees offered fruits and flowers which they brought from the forest. The temple officials later presented clothes to the tribal devotees.
Further, the celestial wedding of Lord Govindaraja Swamy was performed at the Govindaraja Swamy temple in Tatagudi. The tribal devotees from various mandals of Dummugudem, Charla and merged mandals of Andhra Pradesh VR Puram, Kunavaram and Nellipaka thronged the temple. On the occasion, the temple officials provided free transport and food to the devotees.
Speaking on the occasion, temple Executive Officer T Ramesh Babu said Dhammakka Seva Yatra is conducted every year in the month of Ashada and tribal devotees from the district take part in the yatra and offer prayers.
