Congress did many things for poor during its reign: MLA Sridhar Babu

Manthani: Congress did many things for the farmers and provided shelter and food for people during its reign, stated former Minister and Manthani MLA Duddilla Sridhar Babu. He distributed Kalyana Lakshmi and CMRF (Chief Minister Relief Fund) cheques to the beneficiaries of Manthani constituency at a programme at his camp office in Manthani of Peddapalli district on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA D Sridhar Babu alleged that instead of bringing tax and GST funds, which should be allotted to the State, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar and the TRS government brought loans from other sources and made the State as debt-ridden.

By making a resolution in the State Assembly in support of the GST and demonetisation, the Chief Minister pleased Prime Minister Narendra Modi and was not at all interested to fight against the BJP government for its anti-farmer policies, he pointed out. The TRS also supported the BJP in President and Vice-President elections and now playing dramas only to divert the attention of the people, he criticised.

Sridhar Babu felt that Rahul Gandhi's leadership is badly needed for strengthening the Congress in the country. Every activist and leaders of the Congress want Rahul Gandhi to lead the party, he stated.

'Rahul Gandhi' ideology to serve the poor irrespective of politics and his firm determination and vision is highly necessary for the country in the present situation. Many people across the country will welcome his leadership and will work with full energy for the party, the MLA said. Congress leaders S Rajesh, Shashibushan Kache, Shiva, Azam Khan, Shekar, Suresh Reddy, Hanumanthu, Balaji, Geetha Rani, Lingaiah, Sathyam, Rajaiah and Kiran were present along with others.
