Collector flags off 5K run to create awareness on Hepatitis B
Nalgonda: Nalgonda District Collector Gaurav Uppal here on Sunday stressed the need for providing healthcare to one and all. The Collector was flagging off 5k run organised by Fit India foundation to create awareness among the people on Hepatitis B. The run was organsied from NG college ground in Nalgonda.
Speaking on this occasion, Gaurav Uppal said both HIV and Hepatitis B posed hazard to life and they must be controlled to ensure a health society. Earlier, there was no vaccine for Hepatitis B, but now it was available and included in Child vaccination programme, he said. He advised the people to take the vaccine.
The Collector also urged the people to participate in Haritha Haram programme to protect environment. He appreciated Fit India Foundation for conducting 5k run on world hepatitis day.
Excise Superintendent Shankar, Fit India Foundation advisor R I Y V Pratap, president Swamy, IMA district President Dr Pulla Rao, school and college students and walkers participated.
