Board flouted norms said CPM in Hanamkonda
Hanamkonda: Demanding stringent action against those, who were behind the fiasco of Intermediate results, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) activists staged a protest near Ekasila Park on Friday. Speaking at the dharna, CPM district secretary Sarampally Vasudeva Reddy held the State government responsible for the goof up in the Intermediate results that cost the lives of more than 20 students.
Reddy criticised the authorities for hiring a private firm Globarena Technologies to do data and result processing. He accused the authorities of violating norms while granting contract to inexperienced Globarena instead of Centre for Good Governance (CGG) that hitherto handled the data processing.
"A student, who got zero marks in a subject initially, secured 99 marks after re-verification. There are some students, who scored above 900 marks failing in a subject. It shows that the incompetence of Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) in handling the things better," he said.
It's high time that the State government opens its eyes and clean up the BIE, Reddy said. He demanded the government to grant ex gratia of Rs 25 lakhs to families of each student, who ended their lives after Inter results.
