BJP Leaders Accuse Telangana Government of Failing Farmers; Praise Centre’s Support at Aiza Meeting”
Gadwal: A meeting held at the S. Krishnavardhan Reddy Fertilizer Godown near the old bus stand in Aiza town witnessed strong criticism of the Telangana government’s handling of agricultural issues. The program was attended by Aiza Town BJP President Kampani Bhagat Reddy, accompanied by party leaders and local farmers.
Addressing the gathering, the leaders highlighted the central government’s continued support for farmers under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They pointed out that the 21st installment of the PM-KISAN scheme, amounting to ₹18,000 crore, has been directly credited to farmers’ bank accounts across the country.
Bhagat Reddy stated that “while the Modi government stands firmly with the farmers, the Telangana government has completely failed in fertilizer supply, crop procurement, and loan waiver.”
Key Problems Highlighted by the BJP Leaders
1. Fertilizer Shortage
Farmers are forced to wait in long queues for days to secure fertilizer.
Black marketing of fertilizer has reportedly increased, while the state government has not intervened effectively.
Leaders alleged that the state administration is indifferent to the struggles faced by farmers.
2. Mismanagement in Crop Procurement.
Delay in opening procurement centres each season.
Issues in weighing, pricing, and payment processes causing confusion and financial stress.
Farmers are compelled to make repeated visits to sell their produce.
3. Failure of the Farm Loan Waiver Promise
Though the government promised full loan waiver during elections, leaders claimed that it has not been implemented even after a long period.
Thousands of farmers remain trapped in debt as a result.
4. Irrigation Promises Not Fulfilled
Many regions are still struggling to receive adequate irrigation water.
Lack of water supply continues to cause crop damage.
5. Withdrawal of Crop Insurance Scheme.
Telangana government discontinued the central Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).
Leaders alleged that this decision left farmers without compensation during crop loss.
Central Government’s Support to Farmers
The BJP leaders outlined the major initiatives being implemented by the Union government:
₹6,000 per year through PM-KISAN directly into farmers’ accounts.
Subsidized fertilizer to reduce cultivation costs.
Crop insurance with compensation for losses under PMFBY.
Large-scale funding for irrigation projects across the country.
Bhagat Reddy remarked, “Only the central government is truly protecting the farmer, while the Telangana government is pushing them into hardship. It is the Modi government that understands the value of farmers’ sweat.”
The event was attended by:
OBM Morcha District General Secretary Venkatesh Yadav,
Aiza Town Vice Presidents Lakshman Goud and Bellamkonda Nagaraju,
Local leaders Veeresh Goud, Khushi, Raju, Mahesh, Raghu, Ramakrishna,
