B Tech graduate held for outraging modesty in Hyderabad

Hyderabad:A tip off from a person sent a BTech graduate behind bars for outraging the modesty of a woman.

According to Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat, the accused G Shiva Reddy (25), a resident of Kothapet on July 12 riding a bike at SBH Colony in LB Nagar followed a teenage girl and groped her by touching her private parts from back side and fled from the spot.

This was witnessed by one local person by name Dandi Ravi, a resident of SBH Colony, who immediately ranged up dial 100 and reported the incident to Rachakonda CP who in turn assigned the task to SOT sleuths.

Meanwhile, the victim who is a beautician and a resident of LB Nagar, lodged a complaint in the police station.

Police registered a case under section 354 IPC and launched a hunt to nab the culprit. Police could identify and arrest the culprit G Shiva Reddy on Friday and produced him before court.

During interrogation the accused confessed that after noticing the victim woman moving lonely on the road during nighthourhe covered his face with handkerchief and groped her by touching her private parts with an intention to outrage her modesty.

Further, he confessed that two months back also he misbehaved with onewoman pedestrian at HaripuriColony in Chaitanyapuri.

CP Mahesh M Bhagwat rewarded Ravi with Rs 10,000 cash and appreciation letter for taking an active role by capturing CCTV footage from his residence and intimating the incident to Commissioner.
