Ayurveda Day celebrated in district

Nizamabad: Ayurvedic medicines are the creation of our culture and it has been used for the prevention of diseases in our country since ancient times, said District Collector M Ram Mohan Rao. Ayurveda's weekly festivities were started on Friday on the occasion of the National Ayurveda Day.

The Ayurveda Walk was organized which was flagged off by the Collector. Speaking on the occasion, Rao said that the Ayurveda Day has been celebrated in the country on the occasion of Dhanvantari's birthday.

He said, "we are using Ayurvedic, Unani and Siddha medical system since the ancient times to maintain health. However, Ayurveda's popularity has declined over time. He added that there is a need for people to be aware of this healing that will provide a lasting solution to chronic diseases. Some of the plants in the backyard have good medicinal properties."

He said there are 42 Ayurvedic dispensaries in the district and people should avail themselves of the services available there. The event was attended by Ramana Mohan, co-ordinator of the District Ayurveda Division, Vargasvala Incharge Ganga Das, Co-Convener Govardhan, Arya Samaj, and Patanjali officials.
