Narayanpet: While coming down heavily on the attitude of the State and the Central governments against labourers and workers working in the unorganised sectors, Kondanna, district secretary of All India Trade union Congress (AITUC) from Narayanpet said that both the TRS government in Telangana and BJP government at the Centre have been adopting anti-labour and anti-employee policies and trying to suppress workers' rights by not providing adequate salaries and facilities as directed by Supreme Court during a recent judgment.

Kondanna along with other AITUC leaders and health workers working on contract basis at various government primary healthcare centres and district and area hospitals, demanded the officials to immediately release the salaries of workers which have been pending for the last four months.

"More than 30 healthcare workers working on outsourcing basis are being harassed and not being paid the salaries for the last four months. Already, they get very meagre salaries and on the top of it the contractors are not paying them salaries on time. This has made the contract employees debt ridden. At least now the government should respond or else we will stage protest across the district demanding justice for the healthcare staff," said Kondanna.
