71% voting recorded in Zaheerabad

Zaheerabad: The first phase of the 17th Lok Sabha elections came to an end peacefully in the Zaheerabad constituency on Thursday evening. Though technical glitches delayed the process of conducting the elections in the morning, 71 percent of polling was recorded by evening.
The election in Jharsangam, Mogudampally, Nalkal, Kohir and Zaheerabad parliamentary segments was held smoothly. Former Minister Geetha Reddy, MLC Fareeduddin and MLA Manik Rao exercised their franchise.
Police personnel numbering 1,565 were deployed in 313 polling stations. DSP Ganesh Jadhav, along with his staff, supervised the security arrangements in various polling stations.
