63 vehicles seized during cordon search in Karimnagar

Karimnagar: The Cordon and Search operation is conducted for the safety and to protect the people, said Police Commissioner VB Kamalasan Reddy. Under the CP supervision, police personnel conducted cordon and search operation in Housing Board Colony in Karimnagar city on Wednesday and seized about 30 quintals of ration rice meant for public distribution system and gutka packets worth Rs 10,000 stored illegally in a house. 63 vehicles were also seized for not having proper documents.

Speaking on the occasion, Police Commissioner Kamalasan Reddy said that cordon and search operations are conducted to maintain law and order under control and also to keep a check on anti-social activities in the society. People should come forward voluntarily for installing CCTV cameras in their colonies to bring down the crime rate and to keep check on crime. The cameras will be linked to Command Control Room of Police Commissionerate and will ne helpful to keep vigil 24 hours on the colonies where they will be installed, he suggested.

The Police commissioner advised the people, who have smart phones, to download the Hawkeye app. After Hyderabad, more number of people from Karimnagar have downloaded the app till date and utilising the services provided by the police department.

Additional DCP (Law & Order) S Srinivas, Karimnagar town ACP Ashok, Inspectors Vijay Kumar, Deva Reddy and Vignan Rao and 200 police personnel have participated in the cordon and search operation.
