55-year-old man dies of heatstroke in Hyderabad
With the consistent rise in the temperature in the city for the last few days, a 55-year-old man residing in Hayathnagar suffered from heatstroke and died.
Venkanna, a painter and resident of Yella Reddy Colony was found lying unconscious at RTC colony. He was shifted to a hospital where he was declared dead. District medical and health officer Dr J Venkat confirmed the painter's death was due to heatstroke after an autopsy.
As many as 40 deaths have been registered in the city due to heatstroke. However, the exact number of deaths is yet to be confirmed by disaster management authorities.
On the other hand, the IMD issued a three-day heat wave warning to the people on Sunday. People are instructed to stay indoors and avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
