23 residents in Hyderabad apartment test positive for coronavirus
Hyderabad: As many as 23 people who were residing in the same apartment in Madannapet in Hyderabad have been tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday. All the patients were shifted to Gandhi Hospital for treatment.
The officials conducted tests on around 50 people residing in the apartment out of which 23 tested positive including an 11-month-old child and a pregnant woman. Reports of five other people are yet to arrive.
This is the first time that the city saw a huge spike in coronavirus positive cases. Residents of the apartment who could not go to hospitals for coronavirus tests are seeking the help of lab technicians who would visit the apartment and conduct tests. Meanwhile, the officials are conducting a screening test in the surrounding areas of Madannapet with around 4,000 nurses.
Two other positive cases of coronavirus were reported from Indresham village of Patancheru of Sangareddy district.
