Google Marks New Year’s Eve with its Doodle

To welcome the New Year, Google has unveiled a ticking clock house waiting to strike 12 on its home page. The word "Google" is entwined with a string of lights which add a bit of sparkle. Also, when you click on the doodle you encounter a stream of confetti.

As per the Gregorian calendar, New Year's Eve, the last day of the year, falls on December 31. In several countries, the occasion is celebrated with night parties, where many people eat, drink, dance, and watch or light fireworks.

The year 2020 has been tough with the pandemic, which has caused blockades in most countries and a global economic slowdown. People all over the world have been seen anxiously waiting for the new year to bring new hope, health, and happiness. As the Google blog says, "It's been a cuckoo year, but 2020's clock is ticking. The countdown begins now, and when the clock strikes midnight a new year will spread its wings!"
