Amazon Echo Input Portable smart speaker launched in India, Know the details

With the launch of Echo Input Portable smart speaker Amazon has extended its Echo lineup in India. As the name suggests, this Amazon's Alexa-powered smart speaker need not be plugged while using.

The latest speaker from Amazon can be bought by pre-ordering in India at an initial price of Rs 4,999, as its MRP is Rs 5,999. From December 18 onwards device will be started shipping. Parag Gupta, head of Amazon Devices India said during a media interaction that as of now the speaker is exclusively available in the country but will later be launched in other markets also. Amazon is also giving a no-cost EMI on the device beginning at Rs 235.

Specifications and features of Echo Input Portable smart speaker

The key feature of this smart speaker is its portability. Since it is not needed to be plugged, it is power backed by a 4,800mAh battery that lasts up to 10 hours of continuous music playback on a single charge and up to 11 hours of standby time.

It brings along a 1.5-inch speaker, on the front the device has got four LED lights to show the battery level, there are also volume buttons and power button. For a more comfortable conversation with Alexa, there are four microphones on the top. The top also offers a microphone on/off switch and an action button. There is a micro USB power port to charge the device on the rear.

The smart speaker brings along Amazon's digital assistant Alexa's support. Echo users can ask questions to Alexa, play music, read the news, control smart home gadgets, add items to the To-Do list, and the list goes on. Amazon claims that Alexa can perform 30,000 skills in English and over 750 skills in Hindi. The speaker can be connected to a new or existing Multi-Room Music group for a synchronized setup.

When it comes to privacy, besides offering the mute mic button, Amazon provides the users' control over their voice recordings using Alexa Privacy Settings or in the Alexa app. Amazon claims users can hear, view, and delete utterances at any time.
