Yuvraj Singh trolls Shoaib Akhtar after he slams Jofra Archer
On day four of the second Ashes Test at Lord's, after the Australian batsman Steve Smith was hit on his neck by England fast bowler Jofra Archer, The former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar had slammed the Englishman for walking away while "Smith was in pain".
Steve Smith was struck by a short ball from Jofra Archer, which was timed at 92.4 mph (148.7 kph), on an unprotected part of his neck. The right-hander collapsed to the ground face first and retired hurt after receiving on-field treatment.
On Sunday in a tweet by Shoaib Akhtar, he had stated that "I was always the first one to run to the batsman". As Yuvraj Singh had admitted, trolling the former Pakistani with a remark that, he did check up on rival batsmen, but the actual words of Shoaib Akhtar were not of comfort, rather a warning.
Steve Smith was later ruled out of the second Ashes Test on the final day. "Steve has been closely monitored by medical staff overnight and this morning reported that after sleeping well, he woke with 'a bit of a headache and a feeling of grogginess'," said an Australian team spokesman.
Bouncers are a part & parcel of the game but whenever a bowler hits a batsman on the head and he falls, courtesy requires that the bowler must go & check on him. It was not nice of Archer to just walk away while Smith was in pain. I was always the first one to run to the batsman.
