Will discuss it man-to-man on the field: Virat Kohli responds to Kagiso Rabada's remarks against him
South Africa's Kagiso Rabada recently raised the curtain for a few anger games before his team faces off against India on Wednesday.
Calling Virat Kohli "immature", the feisty bowler raked up an uproar among the Indian fan base.
Sharing his views on bowling to the Indian skipper in the IPL, the pace sensation said, "I was just thinking about the game plan really, but Virat, he hit me for a boundary and then he had a word. And then when you give it back to him, he gets angry. I don't get the guy."
"Maybe he does it because it gets him going, but that comes across as very immature for me. He is a phenomenal player but he can't take the abuse," Rabada was quoted as saying by The Cricket Monthly.
Virat Kohli, who appeared to be unaware of Rabada's remarks until the question was popped up at a press conference on Tuesday, did not seem to be too perturbed by them.
Responding to the comments made by the South African fast bowler, the Indian skipper said, "Well I have played against Kagiso many times and I think if anything needs to be discussed, we can discuss man-to-man. I am not using a press conference to answer anything."
However, the 30-year-old recognised that Rabada can be a serious threat on a given day. Speaking at the press conference, Kohli called the quickie a world-class act who can run through any opposition, irrespective of the presence of Dale Steyn or Lungi Ngidi.
India take on South Africa at Rose Bowl in Southampton, on Wednesday, to kickstart their World Cup campaign. Everyone's attention though is likely to be centred on the mouth-watering tussle between Virat Kohli and Kagiso Rabada.
