Mumbai: Karnataka batsman Mayank Agarwal is all set to replace Vijay Shankar as the latter has been ruled out of the tournament owning to a toe injury he suffered during practice ahead of the India VS England match on Sunday. The ICC has approved BCCI's request. At present, Shankar is on his way back home to India while Agarwal is on his way to London.

Agarwal will join the team in Birmingham where India are scheduled to play a match on July 2 against Bangladesh.

India is currently in the race to bag the semi-final spot. The team has two matches left (vs Bangladesh & vs Sri Lanka) and one win is enough to make them get through to the semi finals.
