A story that inspired ladies

Scientist and Entrepreneur, Founder of Thyrocare Technologies, a chain of diagnostic and preventive care labs Dr. Velumani spoke to the FICCI Ladies on “A Successful Romance with Risk” here in Hyderabad on Friday at Park Hyatt, Banjara Hills.

It was a great opportunity for FLO members to listen to a great achiever and get inspired.   There are thousands of definitions of success and failure Dr. Velumani’s success story of rags to riches is definitely an inspiring one.  

Speaking at the event Dr Velumani said, “My village is my university those who see poverty in life see success. So, poverty is very important in life. Make mistakes so you learn fast. I suggest you all to be frugal. Burn calories, not salaries.” Shining light on the topic of recruiting staff, Dr Velumani says “Every six years I add a zero to my net worth. I was unsuccessful in 50 job interviews.

Explaining the struggle, he had gone through in securing job without experience, he decided then that he wouldn’t ever ask experience in recruits. How can you have experience without job he asks? And adds, that is why, we don’t hire experienced. We only prefer fresh and poor.

The company has zero debt. I was afraid of borrowing. My life always revolved around ration card, rather than credit cards.”  Commenting realities of life, he said, I am 59 years old and young. Warren Buffet is 89 years old. I have a long way to go he adds.
