Hyderabad: The two Congress MLAs, who decided to join the TRS, have alleged that their party leaders had offered Rs 50 lakh each to lure them to vote for the party candidate in the Legislative Council elections.

Addressing a press conference here, Pinapaka MLA R Kanta Rao and Asifabad MLA Atram Sakku alleged that the Congress party candidate had offered Rs 50 lakh each.

Kanta Rao said the TPCC president was making baseless allegations against them “We have already made it clear that we would work with KCR (Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao).  TRS has not offered us any money… we have decided to join the ruling party for resolving the issues of tribals.

Whenever we accept the TRS khanduwa, we will resign to the MLA post and we have mentioned this in our letter,” said Rao. The Congress MLA alleged that there were four groups among the MLAs. “Both Uttam Kumar Reddy and Bhatti Vikramarka are lying.

They are asking us how much money was paid. They are talking irresponsibly and hurting the self-respect of tribals,” said Rao. The MLA questioned the Congress party as to why they were contesting without having numbers in their favour.
