Temperatures soar in Khammam, Kothagduem

Khammam: Early onset of summer in the erstwhile Khammam district is forcing the people to remain indoors. With the mercury levels raising in the district for the last one week, the people are concerned over fall in groundwater levels and drying up of ponds. 

The temperatures in Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Sathupalli, Kalluru, Wyra, Madhira, Kusumanchi, Errupalem, Yellandu, Mudigonda, Pinapaka, Enkuru and Aswaraopeta have already touched 40 degrees centigrade mark. Villages surrounding the Godavari river basin are also witnessing extreme temperatures.

Meanwhile, to escape from the extreme weather, people are turning towards cold drinks and coconuts. To avoid sun strokes, the doctors are advising the people to remain indoors during peak hours, take precautions while venturing out under sun, stay hydrated, wear pale-colored comfortable clothes and avoid intense body exercises.
